Explaining her relationship to Édouard Manet and an agreement between them involving a gratuity that she vowed to collect when no longer able to pose; indicating that although she swore never to trouble her with this arrangement, her situation has become desperate, between having to care for her aging mother and being unable to work due to a broken finger on her right hand; stating that Messieurs [Ferdinand?] Lhenoff [sic] and Gustave Manet can confirm Manet's intention to deliver on his promise.
